Future Front Texas
Formerly #bossbabesATX
Based in Austin, Future Front is an award-winning 501(c)(3) arts and culture nonprofit, cultural space, and exhibition series that prioritizes women and LGBTQ+ creatives. Their programs and partnerships aim to foster a future in Texas where creativity, curiosity, and intersectional design flourish, and our communities reflect our diverse cultures and identities.
As a former Creative Staffer and Board Member, I worked on several amazing projects with my time at Future Front.
2019 State of the Uterus
In 2019, Future Front Texas (formerly known as #bossbabesATX) organized the State of the Uterus event, which aimed to reaffirm the community's and public's dedication to gender justice and civic engagement. A key consideration in developing this year's concept was ensuring inclusivity. Recognizing that not all individuals who identify as women have a uterus, the focus was on advocating for reproductive rights and healthcare in a way that includes everyone.
The event concluded with a dance party, and I took inspiration from this celebratory atmosphere to create visual content. I paired quotes from interviews with all participants with playful designs, resulting in a series of 22 posters displayed at the event. You can view a few of my illustrated posters as part of this series below.
2018 BabesFest
BABES FEST was an annual gathering in Austin, Texas, dedicated to celebrating and showcasing the talents of women and nonbinary artists. Organized by Future Front Texas (formerly #bbatx), this weekend-long event features performances, panels, pop-up markets, film screenings, and networking opportunities across music, film, art, creative education, and comedy.
