Making Space and Stepping Back
The second issue of Radical Adventure Riders Zine Get Rad, titled "Making Space and Stepping Back," showcases the efforts of 13 contributors, including myself, who are dedicated to fostering inclusivity in the cycling and outdoor community. This issue highlights the importance of creating spaces for BIPOC, trans, women, intersex, and gender non-conforming individuals.
In my contribution, I decided to interview four prominent Black female cyclists from the Black Girls Do Bike Denver Chapter. I aimed to capture their essence through photography and crafted collaged illustrated portraits for each woman. Read my essay and see my photography and illustration work below.
